Polin Fans Get Ready. Your Faves To Bring Heat To Bridgerton S3, Says Jonathan Bailey
Penelope and Colin aren't kids anymore.
Summary
- Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey recently promised a 'tantalizing' Season 3 with the new leads 'bringing the heat.'
- These words echo what other cast members have said over the past few months, and fans are gearing up for a steamy storyline.
- Nicola Coughlan said earlier this year that both Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton have grown up and are ready to take viewers on a hot ride.
Season 3 has become the most eagerly anticipated chapter of Netflix's romantic drama Bridgerton.
That's partly because the Hollywood strikes and spinoff Queen Charlotte have delayed the premiere of the new episodes, and partly because the two leads are someone fans already know and love.
The season, likely to premiere next year, will focus on the friends-to-lovers arc between Nicola Coughlan's Penelope 'Pen' Featherington, aka elusive Lady Whistledown, and Luke Newton's Colin, the third Bridgerton sibling, whose pairing fans have affectionately dubbed Polin.
The Polin Season Promises To Be Steamy
All signs indicate that the months fans have spent waiting for the new Bridgerton chapter will be worth it. Season 3 promises to be one of, if not the most steamy and sexy of the entire series.
That's what Jonathan Bailey, who played Season 2 lead Anthony Bridgerton, recently teased.
‘It's going to be tantalizing,’ the actor told E! News last week. ‘It's going to be good. And also, my brother Luke Newton is bringing the heat with Nicola. So it's going to be great.’
This certainly sounds promising and confirms what other cast members have been saying during the lengthy hiatus between seasons.
Pen & Colin Have Grown Up
Bridgerton Season 3 will continue where the previous chapter left off, with Pen picking up the pieces of her broken heart, dreams and friendship with Eloise.
The official synopsis says that the youngest Featherington will try to shake off her childhood crush on Colin after his hurtful words and become an independent woman, which in the Regency era meant marrying the right man.
But it is this very decision that is going to lead Colin to realize that his true love has always been near him, and turn the two childhood friends into passionate adults longing for each other.
‘We open our season with the ton’s return from the countryside… Both Colin and Pen have done some growing up,’ Coughlan said at this year's Netflix Tudum event. ‘We cannot wait to take you along for the carriage ride.’
That last bit hints at one of the hottest scenes in the source material, Julia Quinn's novel Romancing Mister Bridgerton, and leaves no doubt that no matter how steamy and electric the previous seasons were, the upcoming Polin chapter will definitely rival them.
And we are certainly here for it.
