Thus, Nicola Coughlan recently broke the strike-induced silence and talked about the upcoming third season of the Netflix hit romantic drama in her interview for Virgin Media TV's The Six O'Clock Show.

Nicola Coughlan Confirms 2024 Premiere

Nicola, who plays Penelope Featherington set to find her happily ever after with Colin Bridgerton in Bridgerton Season 3, once again proved to be the show fandom's biggest cheerleader, starting the conversation by acknowledging and relating to the fans' struggle with the delayed premiere of the new chapter.

'The fans of Bridgerton are amazing and they're impatient for the series... And I'm like, "You think you're impatient? You have no idea how impatient I feel about it." It will finally be coming out in 2024, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had,' the actress said. 'I just want people to see it now. I have no date yet, so I'm checking my emails every day, but it's closer now than it's ever been.'

While not a definitive date announcement, these words mean a lot to fans because they show that the series has not been forgotten by the studios. Yes, the 2024 premiere is not the same as the December 2023 release that some fans were hoping for, but it at least gives some window for anticipation.

Nicola Coughlan Teases Romantic Season with Steamy Undertones

Nicola also made sure to give fans of the Penelope and Colin pairing a few crumbs to keep them going until the next update.

The actress reiterated her own previous statements that the new storyline will be the most romantic of all those shown so far, but unsuitable for younger audiences because of all the hot moments that fans are probably most excited about.

'This season is really fun, really romantic. They incorporated a lot of romcom elements. And, you know, again, it's not the one to watch with the whole family,' she said, teasing steamy scenes between her and co-star Luke Newton.

Speaking of Newton, Nicola praised her co-star-turned-friend for being there for her during what she called the 'most terrifying' moments of on-screen bodice-ripping.

'I had a great partner in it. And it was terrifying, but also really liberating. I honestly loved every second,' Nicola said.

Well, there's no doubt that viewers will enjoy every second of the Penelope/Colin romance when it finally lands on Netflix. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later, and in the meantime we can expect to see more of Coughlan and Newton promoting their solo season.

These two are hands down the most adorable co-stars imaginable.
