We might be not ready for that.

Summary

  • The first two seasons of Bridgerton have been juicy, to say the least.
  • The Netflix bodice-ripping show is not shy about sexual tension, heavy make-out sessions and nude bed scenes.
  • But it looks like Season 3 will be the champion of naughty moments.
  • Fans recently discovered that the age rating for the upcoming chapter has been raised.

Imagine this: You are watching Bridgerton Season 1 right after Daphne has discovered the joys of married life. Are you blushing yet? Those scenes between the newlywed Duke and Duchess of Hastings were colorful and spicy, to say the least.

From the very first minute, Bridgerton set out to prove that this was not a kid-friendly TV channel show, but an adult streaming bodice-ripping drama where sex moans and nudity were part of the viewing experience. Anthony kicked off this approach with a hot bed moment with opera singer Siena.

Season 2 seemed to tone down the explicit stuff, but the sexual tension between Kate and Anthony was almost more provocative than Daphne and Simon's sexcapade. As it turns out, however, this is not the limit of the steam Bridgerton can offer.

Age Rating Upgrade

If you thought the third Bridgerton son, Colin, and third Featherington daughter, Penelope, who will headline the next season of Bridgerton, which airs in two parts on May 16 and June 13, were too young, shy and inexperienced to get really naughty, think again.

Bridgerton fans were recently sent into a frenzy by the discovery that the UK has changed the age rating of Season 3 from MA (15+) to A (18+), as X user @chaoticguitar pointed out in their tweet.

Now stop and really think about it. Season 1 with all its graphic scenes was rated 15 and above, and Season 3 will be rated 18 and above. It will be more extreme! Now, 'it's always the quiet ones' doesn't sound like a hope, it sounds like a promise or even a warning, right?

Wallflower & Gentleman

How is it possible that a shy wallflower and a sweet, buttoned-up young gentleman (who, according to some fans, may still be a virgin) get the most explicit scenes in the show, you might ask.

Well, we don't have to go too far to find out. From Julia Quinn's novel, which is a source for Season 3, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, we know that Colin and Penelope are a match made in heaven. And they bring out the most feral parts of each other.

They have the juiciest lovemaking scenes in the entire book series, thanks to their eagerness and enthusiasm for each other. It helps that Colin is a dirty talker and can't help but say out loud everything he's thinking or fantasizing about. That's how the mirror scene we're hoping to see in Season 3 came to be.

If the show adapts this quirk of his, that alone could boost the ratings. Add to that the palpable chemistry between the stars, Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, and you have a very promising Season 3. It's a shame we have to wait another 3 months for it.
