5 Ricks So Memorable They Deserve Their Own Rick and Morty Episodes
Great foundation for new mind-blowing stories.
If the history of Rick and Morty has taught us anything, it is that going small is good. For the show, that means telling character-driven short stories set in the multiverse. Thus, S3E7, known as Tales from the Citadel, has been a fan-favorite episode for years, with an IMDb score of 9.8/10.
For this reason, we think it would be a great idea to take a couple of minor characters and write episode-length stories about them. And who better to play these minor characters than different versions of the title character himself?
If you ask any Rick and Morty viewer which Ricks they know, the answers will probably come down to Rick C-137, Rick Prime, Doofus Rick, and the members of the Council of Ricks. The most bizarre Rick we all remember is Pickle Rick aka Solen'ya, who was featured in the self-titled episode (which was also amazing, by the way).
Meanwhile, we know that there are an infinite number of different Ricks in the vast Rick and Morty multiverse, some of whom we met in the Citadel and in big interdimensional events like Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind.
Here are five of the most memorable ones whose arcs we'd like to see expanded.
Cronenberg Rick
S1E6 Rick Potion #9
We all remember that Morty Prime's dimension was Cronenberged, and the protagonists left it for Dimension C-131, where their counterparts had died. But do you remember that at the end of the same episode, Cronenberg Rick and Morty came to their places?
We caught a glimpse of them again in S3E1 The Rickshank Rickdemption, but never since. Now that Cronenberg Rick is back in the world where everyone else has been turned into normal people, it would certainly be interesting to see how he operates there.
Western Rick
S1E10 Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind
We only saw Western Rick, also known as Cowboy Rick, for a second, but he is definitely someone who deserves a longer story. First of all, he is known as a tough gym leader in the game Pocket Mortys. And second (and most importantly), we want to see the Cowboy universe he comes from. Does everyone there live by the rules of the Wild West?
Farmer Rick
S3E7 The Ricklantis Mixup
We met an angry Farmer Rick in Tales from the Citadel, and assume he survived the destruction of the Citadel. The owner of the Mega Tree Farm is an intriguing character who lives with a trusty robot dog, and it would be interesting to see either how he ended up farming Mega Fruit or what universe he originally came from.
Aqua Rick
S1E10 Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind
Aqua Rick and Fish Morty are most memorable for their appearance. While they share the general characteristics of the protagonists, they have the features of sea creatures and wear helmets that are probably filled with water. Their dimension of origin is unknown, but we can imagine that the Earth there is basically a huge ocean. A perfect setting for a one-episode story.
Robot Rick
S1E10 Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind
Were he and his companion, Robot Morty, just created to resemble the main characters, or is there a world where people are born robots? A standalone story could explain that. Also, Robot Rick is probably very different from Rick C-137, since he is not susceptible to human passions and traumas, or is he? By the way, is there a Gear Rick from Gear World? So many questions, so few answers.
