Netflix hasn’t renewed I Will Find You for Season 2—yet
Netflix has not announced a second-season renewal for I Will Find You yet, leaving its future officially undetermined.
Asked directly whether the hit could continue, author and executive producer Harlan Coben didn’t hedge. In a June 18 interview with TV Insider, he said he writes his Netflix shows to wrap up cleanly, not to stretch across years of cliffhangers.
“Probably not.” “Whenever I do [a show]—I think this is my 13th series with Netflix—it’s always with the intention of never writing these characters again. It’s all out on the table.”
The stance comes even as I Will Find You exploded out of the gate: Netflix reports 24 million views in its first four days after the June 18 launch, calling it the streamer’s biggest new-series debut of 2026.
Coben added in the TV Insider chat that he doesn’t want to leave audiences waiting years between chapters. He left the door cracked only slightly, saying he’d consider a return if he found a story that felt as strong as the first; otherwise, he’d rather start fresh.
About the series
Based on Coben’s 2023 novel, the thriller centers on David Burroughs (Sam Worthington), a father serving a life sentence after being falsely convicted of his young son’s murder. When evidence surfaces that the boy may still be alive, David chases the truth behind the case that destroyed his family.
