Earlier this year, Keanu Reeves proved once again that he is probably the nicest human being to ever exist by coming to the r/Movies subreddit to answer questions from fans and casual viewers, and to spread some positive vibes during an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session.
Perhaps one of the toughest questions for the actor was a simple one. 'What is your favourite film that you've worked on?' a Redditor asked.
It turns out that Reeves is quite proud of his work and couldn't pick just one out of all the titles on his acting resume, which is not surprising considering there are over a hundred of them.
'Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!' the actor replied. 'I've been very fortunate to work on a few films that have changed my life. I can't pick just one.'
So he picked ten. Here they are in the order the actor mentioned them. Let's see if you've watched them all.
Keanu Reeves' Favorite Movies He Starred In
-
River's Edge (1986) – This is one of Reeves' earliest and most obscure movies, so it's interesting that the actor mentioned it first. Looks like he has fond memories of the story of a group of teenagers who suffer the loss of one of their members at the hands of the other.
-
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) – The goofy sci-fi comedy about two friends who time-travel to historical events to create the perfect high school history presentation is still a wholesome watch.
-
The Matrix (1999) – Of course, the actor couldn't miss the trilogy that made him famous. Lana and Lilly Wachowski's mind-bending masterpiece is hands down one of the best movies of the 20th century.
-
The Matrix Reloaded (2003) – Where there is The Matrix, there are sequels. They may not be as good as the original, but they do complete Neo's story.
-
The Matrix Revolutions (2003) – The final part of the original trilogy wraps up the war between humans and machines.
-
The Devil's Advocate (1997) – Another timeless classic worth revisiting is this wonderfully wicked story of a young lawyer who discovers that his boss is the devil himself.
-
A Scanner Darkly (2006) – A surprise addition to the list, this animated thriller for adults offers a unique look at a near-future dystopian police state society driven by drug addiction.
-
My Own Private Idaho (1991) – The independent story of two friends on a road trip of self-discovery is a perfect example of how brilliant an actor Reeves is.
-
Point Break (1991) – The film about a young undercover cop who infiltrates a gang of bank robbers established Reeves as the ultimate action movie star.
-
John Wick (2014) – Of course, the iconic story of an ex-hitman on a mission to avenge the death of his dog made the list.
