The White Worm Is Mysaria
Played by Sonoya Mizuno, Mysaria first appears as Daemon Targaryen's companion — a former dancer from Lys who Daemon meets in a King's Landing brothel. What starts as a personal relationship becomes something much bigger: Mysaria uses her position and connections to build an information network across King's Landing, eventually becoming known by the alias "the White Worm."
Where the Nickname Comes From
The name comes from Mysaria's pale complexion in George R.R. Martin's source material, "Fire & Blood" — the show's version of the character varies slightly in appearance, but keeps the alias and the role. Like Littlefinger's brothel-based spy network in the original Game of Thrones, Mysaria builds her power base through pleasure houses before expanding into a much wider web of messengers, informants, and hired knives across the city.
What She Actually Does in the Story
Mysaria isn't just background color — she's one of the more consequential players in the Targaryen civil war. Her network gives her access to information no one else in King's Landing has, and she uses it decisively: at one point, she uncovers and helps foil a plot to assassinate Rhaenyra, directly protecting the show's protagonist and shifting the political balance in her favor.
By the end of Season 2, Mysaria and Rhaenyra have become lovers, and Mysaria's position shifts from freelance information broker to something closer to a formal ally — she goes on to serve as Rhaenyra's Mistress of Whisperers, putting her spy network directly in service of the Black faction's war effort.
Why She Matters
In a show built almost entirely around bloodlines and inherited claims to power, Mysaria is one of the only major characters who built her influence from nothing. She's proof that in the world of House of the Dragon, information is its own kind of weapon — arguably a more reliable one than dragons, given how many of those end up dead by the end of the war.
