Rick and Morty made the multiverse a thing in current pop culture. Exactly ten years ago, the genius, slightly crazy scientist and his grandson first appeared on our screens with their portal gun that could transport them to any parallel universe imaginable.
Since then, the concept has taken root in our minds, and today it seems strange if a sci-fi show or superhero franchise doesn't explore the theme of alternate worlds.
Of course, the portal tech is breathtaking and impressive, but during its ten-year on-screen journey, Rick and Morty has introduced a bunch of other outstanding gadgets and technologies. Here are five that we would like to have and use in our everyday lives.
Somnambulator (S6E4)
The device from Night Family that allows you to program your unconscious body to do things while you sleep is apparently a horror fuel that can lead to morally questionable Severance-like results. But we would use it wisely, right?
Attribute Slider (S7E7)
Maybe it is because it was introduced so recently, but an attribute slider that lets you adjust your natural attribute stats like strength, charisma, dexterity and intelligence seems insane. Insanely desirable, of course.
Meeseeks Box (S1E5)
Well, on the lazy side of things, why create a night person or increase your dexterity when you have a box that creates a skilled and determined contractor for any task? Just make sure you don't ask Mr Meeseeks to do anything impossible, like take over the world or teach Jerry to play golf.
Interdimensional Cable (S1E8)
A cable box that gives you access to TV shows in any dimension is a super cool device. The only additional setting we would like to have is the ability to add channels to the Favorites folder. After all, where's the fun in having to search through a million channels to find a show that you enjoyed last night?
Froopyland (S3E9)
We know, we know, Froopyland has brought nothing good into the lives of the Smith family, but just imagine how beneficial the technology could be in the real world, if used with caution.
The collapsed subdimensional space could give you your own world, with fully customizable interiors and almost limitless space. And all you need is a wall big enough for a door. That's some world-changing stuff on a grand scale right there!
These five are certainly awesome, but how could we forget the most important device? The Plumbus! Everyone needs to have one in their home, for crying out loud!
