Kelsey Grammer Says The Marvels' Cameo Is Not Beast's Last MCU Appearance

And we are certainly here for whatever comes next for the mutant.

Summary

  • Kelsey Grammer made a surprise appearance in the post-credits scene of The Marvels.
  • The actor told The Wrap that the response to the scene was amazing and that he 'can say with a certain amount of confidence' that we will see Beast again in the MCU.
  • The mutant could appear in the upcoming Deadpool 3 or in the Avengers movies, concluding the Multiverse Saga.

The last time we saw Kelsey Grammer's Dr. Hank McCoy aka Beast in Fox's X-Men universe was a brief cameo in 2014's Days of Future Past. Imagine spending hours in the makeup chair just for a 5-second appearance!

But actually, all that time was not spent in vain. That brief scene cemented the actor's path to the MCU.

Beast gets a cameo in The Marvels

After Marvel Studios finally regained the rights to the X-Men series, mutants started popping up all over the MCU. Probably the most exciting cameo came in the recent The Marvels, which came out on November 10th of this year.

In the post-credits scene, Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau finds herself stranded in a parallel universe. And to everyone's delight, that branch turns out to be the X-Men universe created by Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in Days of Future Past.

How do we know this? Because Kelsey Grammer's Beast is there. He is as blue-skinned, fanged, clawed, and genius as ever, donning a comic book-inspired outfit. And while we see him back on screen for just a few seconds, this is supposedly not Beast's last appearance.

Kelsey Grammer says it's just the beginning

Speaking to The Wrap recently, the actor who plays Hank McCoy shared his belief that he will have the opportunity to reprise the role of the brilliant X-scientist.

'It is my hope that you will [see Beast again]. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will. I would love to,' Grammer said.

He added that he was delighted with the reaction to The Marvels' cameo, as many people contacted him after seeing the exciting post-credits scene.

'I've always wanted to play him again. I see him as an extraordinary character, a real character of gravitas and importance in our culture,' the actor said. 'I'm delighted Beast is back and hope he's back in a real way.'

What future MCU projects might Beast appear in?

Clearly, with The Marvels' post-credits scene, the MCU creators are setting up a clash between Earth-616, where Monica Rambeau is from, and Fox's X-Men universe.

It could happen as soon as July 26, 2024, when Deadpool 3 is set to premiere. Since the movie will reportedly dive into the multiverse side of things, it's natural to assume that Grammer's Beast will be there.

But if he's not, then his appearance in The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, which will wrap up the Multiverse Saga and feature numerous characters from all the different branches, is almost guaranteed.

Either way, we are here for the new appearances of the fan-favorite mutant. Are you?
