Summary

  • The Valentine's Day Bridgerton event gave fans plenty of new material for speculation.
  • Among other things, Season 3 stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton teased during the cast interviews that the upcoming chapter will be spicy starting with Episode 2.
  • This confirms what fans have been expecting and makes one wonder which scene exactly will find its way into the episode.

The Valentine's Day Bridgerton event revealed a lot of interesting little details about Season 3, which is set to land on Netflix in two four-episode parts on May 16 and June 13. The biggest takeaway is that the story of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton (aka Polin) will definitely be scandalous. So scandalous that you won't want to watch it with your parents.

Along with a new teaser clip and a bunch of first-look stills, the cast and crew treated fans to interviews about the upcoming arcs and storylines, some of which will apparently be extremely juicy.

Solo Watching Recommended

Thus, Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, who play the two halves of the Polin pairing, told Today FM that there is no way they will be watching the season with their families. Nicola even requested a PG version to show her mother.

'If you want to watch it with your mom and dad, go for it. I really - having seen this…' Nicola said. 'I am not doing that.'

The cast had had a special screening of the first two episodes of Season 3, and apparently things are going to get really naughty from Episode 2 on, a surprising change from the chemistry-filled but largely low-key Season 2.

'I don't think I can do Episode 2 with my mom, let alone...' Luke said, interrupting himself so as not to give away any spoilers.

Age Ratings Changed

In fact, not only Episode 2 will be bodice-ripping. When asked if the edited version for Nicola's mom would be short, the stars joked that it would probably be 'about 5 minutes long'.

These words perfectly confirm what fans have already discovered: in anticipation of Season 3, the UK has changed the age rating of Bridgerton from MA (15+) to A (18+), which means that the new episodes will be more extreme than even Season 1 with all of Daphne and Simon's post-wedding shenanigans.

Steamy Scenes Expected

So how exactly will the Netflix show try to make us feel uncomfortable? Aside from the fact that other characters may be fooling around, Polin alone has a number of steamy book scenes to adapt.

The suggestive looks and dialogue, the first kiss, the carriage scene (which is probably what Luke didn't want to say out loud), the couch session, the engagement party and the mirror fantasy all promise to be really hot.

What exactly will happen in Episode 2 that will make us blush? Well, we don't know for sure, but many fans are speculating that it could be a first kiss that turns into making out right after the hand-cutting moment or during a moonlight short clip that was released earlier.

Either way, we have to be ready for May 16th, because you know what they say, it's always the quiet ones.
