10 Slasher Horrors from the 90s So Bad, They're Actually Good

The '90s: a time of frosted tips, slap bracelets, and... oddly entertaining slasher flicks of "so bad, they're actually might end up being your guilty pleasure" variety.

1. "Dr. Giggles" (1992)
"Laughter," they say, "is the best medicine." Well, someone took that too literally. Let's talk Dr. Evan Rendell. This fella, Dr. Giggles, escapes a mental institution and heads back to his hometown. His objective? Revenge, armed with... wait for it... surgical tools.

We've got delusions mixed with a medical degree here. As he performs impromptu "surgeries," the town wonders who's next.

2. "Jack Frost" (1997)
Snow days and... serial killers? Yikes! Convicted killer Jack Frost finds himself in a freak accident involving, ahem, genetic material. What's the result? A snowman with a vendetta. People, don't eat that yellow snow!

As Frost (the killer snowman, not the childhood fable) terrorizes the town, the sheriff who put human Jack behind bars must stop him again. Think Frosty went to the dark side. When they say "cold-blooded killer," I bet they didn't mean it that literally.

3. "The Dentist" (1996)
Dr. Alan Feinstone had everything: a booming dental practice, a lavish LA mansion, and a gorgeous wife. But alas, when he discovers his wife's infidelity, his sanity plunges faster than a drill into a molar. Patients, beware! This dentist's chair is now a torture chamber.

Now, if you were afraid of visiting your local dentist before, I don't know what this movie is going to do to you, fair warning.

4. "Leprechaun" (1993)
What's shiny, green, and murderous all over? Here's a hint: it ain't a four-leaf clover. A malevolent leprechaun is out and about, searching for his lost gold. And by "out and about," I mean terrorizing anyone who gets in his way.

When a family unwittingly releases him, a pot of trouble follows. It's not about the luck of the Irish here; it's about surviving his shenanigans.

5. "Uncle Sam" (1996)
Celebrate Independence Day with... a vengeful corpse? Desert Storm casualty Sam Harper didn't rest in peace. He's back, in undead form, to punish those he deems unpatriotic. As the small town preps for the 4th of July, Sam is getting his own fireworks ready. His niece, however, might be the key to halting his violent spree.

6. "Cutting Class" (1989)
Class is in session, and so is chaos. After spending time in a mental institution, young Brian Woods returns to high school. Around the same time, a murderer starts picking off the staff and students. Coincidence? As suspicion swirls around Brian, the school becomes a nightmare of trust issues.

Who's got school spirit, and who's got a spirited knife? Study hard, kids. It just might save your life!

7. "Wishmaster" (1997)
You know the old saying: "Be careful what you wish for"? This ain't no genie in a bottle; it's the Djinn. Unleashed by a gemologist named Alexandra, this ancient evil grants wishes in the most, let's say, creative ways. But here's the catch: collect enough souls, and the Djinn can unleash his kin upon Earth.

8. "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (1997)
After four friends accidentally hit a man with their car, they decide to dump the body and promise never to speak of it again. Fast forward, a year later, they start receiving menacing notes with that ominous message.

As the group gets picked off one by one, the survivors scramble to find out who's behind the hook (literally, the weapon is a hook).

9. "Bride of Chucky" (1998)
Everyone's favorite killer doll is back and looking for love! After Chucky gets resurrected by his ex-flame Tiffany, the two embark on a murderous road trip to retrieve a magical amulet that can transfer their souls to human bodies. Romance is alive, but many aren't after these two hit the road.

10. "The Rage: Carrie 2" (1999)
Sequels, am I right? Carrie's story gets a 90s revamp. Rachel, a misunderstood teen with a terrible secret, discovers she's related to Carrie White. As she grapples with telekinetic powers, her high school peers push her to the brink. Spoiler alert: they shouldn't have.
